Tony Jackson is still alive and kicking. Jioned in 1955 squad 7/55.
Served in the Commando Band, HMS Tiger & Hms Lion. Ended up in the Staff Band 1966-71. Left joined the Police Force, most of my time spent in CID and ended up as Det Sergt Fraud Squad leaving in 1996. Further career in the Banking/Finance Section as a Fraud Investigator.
Believe it or not still playing the Tenor Sax in a successful Concert Band and playing the Violin in a String Quartet. ( Some who know me are probably saying " You what " ? Sorry but it is true and I'm making money . Still married and in good health. Inerested to hear from anyone who can remember me.

I never met you Tony... in either life! Welcome to the forum and the madness that is contagious
A lot of ex bandies have gone to the Dark side and stood on corners with speed guns (guess who got one pointed at him today good job a bike doesn't have a plate on the front )
I wonder if there are enough to form a massed band of the Police (ex RM). DON'T say you still play, numbers are low for Horse Guards next year and Andy Wymer can stop smiling, excused marching chits only last 2 years

Hi Tony
I sure do remember you. We met at the 100th reunion in Nelson not too long ago and talked football refereeing etc etc and golf. I havent been to a reunion since then but it is my intention to go next year all being well. It would be nice to see you there again.
All the best for now

Welcome to the forum Tony.

I joined in '69, so I'm pretty sure our paths never crossed. I didn't get 'rated' until April 72 and I certainly wasn't deemed fit for the RMSM band!!!

Hi Tony
I'm sure you will remember me, plus I'm sure we served together, Deal for sure as I was the man who didn't do a lot of music, surplus to requirement, still kept me swimming and water polo. good to hear your still gigging and getting paid for it.

You are only as old as you feel, now I'm 71 I have a lot of aches and pains now, but a lot of it down to doing too much sport in my younger day's and to much marching around, though I still swim and racing in the Kent championships 4th July, never know when to stop.

Yes Len, but I did win two gold in the Kent championships, which made me feel young for about ten minutes, then back to my real age 71.

I am new to this so hope I'm replying correctly.

I was in Deal concert orch 62-64 and 66 - 69 so same time as you Tony (piano, flute & bass drum). Though I can't visualize you yet.

Since I joined here, have started to contact quite a few old buddies.

Hi Charles, did we call you Charlie?
I remember you from the concert hall.
How yuh doing mate?
I'm Bob John, just joined here recently.
Have been corresponding with quite a few old shipmates. And also, sadly, hearing about the deceased.
