The Royal Marines Band Service On-line Community

Hey, I'm 18 and play the trombone and trumpet. Just after abit of advice.

I really REALLY want to join the Royal Marines Band Service, but wont be able to apply until january (medical reasons), in that time would it be worth getting hold of a euphonium and auditon on that and trombone, rather than trumpet (as my range on trumpet has dramatically decreased due to trombone being my main instrument). Or would you think its better to practice hard on the trumpet and try and get my range back.

Any advice would be great!

It depends on what you want to play. You will come down on audition and tell the team what instruments you play. They will try and fit you into whatever category they are short in.
