When enlisting on January the 13th 1970, our Squad, all seven of us, were known as 3/69. I can remember one of us asking why, when it was 1970. We were informed that we were 3/69 Squad, because we were the 3rd intake of the financial year.
If Nick B was in 2/70 and he joined in the summer of 1970 and JC's intake of Spring, was 1/70, my New Entry Squad WAS 3/69.
What do you make of that Stuey ?  Was your New Entry number, really 2/69 ?

I'M Spartacus!!

We were definitely 3/69 Mac, but I've been aware for a long time that you were told that you were 3/69 too and laid claim to the number!

It's a strange state of affairs, but if you look at our squid photo, you'll see 3/69 at the bottom of it - what's on yours?

Finally, there were 42 of us - you wanna fight?

Stuey

Oh - and finally finally, the squid in front of us were defo 2/69 - so nothing really adds up to a satisfactory conclusion... Ivor, have you got anything to add?

Dear Stuey,
I thought that I would get a quicker response to this from you. We didn't have a squad number on our photo. Maybe, were were destined to be, "The Squad with no name"
Maybe,....because there were only seven of us, pusser viewed us as 3/69, Batch 2 ?
In the great scheme of things, who really gives a $hit!

PS. JC,......what was your squad number ?

I was in 2/74- at least thats what it says on our squad photo, even though we were actually the 3rd entry of that year, the 2nd consisting of only 8 J/musn's who hotly contested our title...  As in your case HB, we outnumbered them (54 of us), so no contest

Hi all(and you Stu). All I can say is that when I joined on Tuesday May 6th 1969 we were definitely 2/69 squad. I'm not even going to try and work out good old pusser's logic. As far as I was concerned we were the second intake of that YEAR. Not the financial year. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Whilst we're on the subject it would be nice to see as many of 2/69 squad at the reunion this year with it being our 40th anniversary. Take care all. Ivor South.
