Although there were a few irate Bootnecks who were after it, when you decided it would be amusing, to shout out during the silent hours and tell us all to make for the life boats.
As usual, Al White was in front.

yes, I remember it well [and I know Al White still does] Al was worried when we lived up top because of air raids and when we were moved below the waterline he worried about the submarine threat. I think this is the time the AHOOGAH warning shout came into being and saw Al running out of his cabin wearing and infalting his life jacket. Was that cruel....

Cruel?....yes!

Strangely enough, we were still docked in Southampton at the time.
