I met Pete Lloyd (by pure chance) at my place of business today. He finished up in Staff Band in 1965, and was principal clarinet. He was on the USA tour in '64.???, and remembers Col Jim well.
Any of you older guys (I love saying that) remember him..???
After a long chat with him, I discovered he lives on a farm less than 500mtrs away from me. He is still active in the music scene, and has remained proffessional since leaving the Mob.. _________________ 'Never moon a werewolf'. |

It would be very difficult to have done the States trip in 64 , we went with FVD in 65. I sure has hell do not remember Pete in the staff band of which I was a member from 61/66. I think like me he must be one the older guys you mention but I think not, if he remembers Col Jim who took up post as PDM in 1978, 3 years before I left then he must almost my age??? Me thinks you are maybe ten years out but then a Band did not go to the States in 74 either. Perhaps to much of the old wicked Whicky has fuddled your sporran a little, it happens from time to time as you know, but we get over it and then do it again and again. See you in October XXX. _________________ Mr bass trombone |

Show us all Rab!
What's her name, inside leg measurement (and more!) how old, colour of hair, you know the drill!!!!
WHAT???!!!
What else is gonna drag him to bloody Englandshire with it's drug culture, yobbism, crap traffic culture, yadda yadda yadda whinge moan whine etc etc
Tell me I is wrong Rab, tell me it was to gain inside information from the Garden of England so you can learn how to grow soft fruit more profitably (actually, it probably was!!)
Yawn.... thought I was onto something for a second there. _________________ I made that classic mistake last night that all guys make. I got really drunk, and I ended up having sex with my best friend.

Ahaaaaaaaaaah... I do believe Peter has just joined the Forum as we speak. I do hope so, as that'll be my recruitment target met for the year.. _________________ 'Never moon a werewolf'. |

I spoke to Pete again today, and he doesn't mind me telling you he's actually 70.. (hope I'm as young as him at that age)
It WAS '65 USA trip he was on, so if you can't remember him Mick, then maybe it's YOU who's old think-tank's frazzled by the amber nectar...
He finished his 9yrs in'66 (Ooooooooh I hate mentioning that year )
You should really sit further away from the bar me old fruit bat... _________________ 'Never moon a werewolf'. |

Not suprised MICK, there were a lot more bands then. I remember Wally the Horn/Librarian saying he joined in '55 and there were 33 bands within the service but as the man in the surgical boots said.."I stand to be corrected" _________________ Visit The Hawthorns
