I would say join up, you can study whilst serving and get paid to do it. The study is all part of training and goes towards your BMus and it is paid for in the most.

Hi Reedy and welcome to the Forum.. I take it by your user name you play this. ...or this.. .???

That was sound advice from Admin and our resident alcoholic...  (sorry Brian)..

Why waste time on the outside when all that time could be counting towards your pension etc.,??

We all did it, and only the three who have answered you so far have actually become alcoholics...

Good Luck....

Reedy, welcome to the Forum.
You have already received sound advice and I can only add my voice to it. The training that you will receive will be second to none and you will be paid whilst you study. Add to this the chance to travel and serve your country, what could be better?
Why not spend some time at the Royal Marine School of Music (seek advice from admin) and see what advice the lads and lasses have to give you? They will probably be best placed to give you up to date advice/tips etc.
Here's wishing you all the best of luck in your decision.
Kratos.

Careers acquaint visits can be set up through your careers teacher or local armed forces careers office. If you don't get any joy let me know and I know a man who can sort it for you.
