Helo there! My names Dan Im 22 and have always had a love for music! I currently only play drums but in its kit form not side drum. I would love to join as a bugler however am not sure if I would be qualified as I do not play the bugle! Can anuone help me out on what qualifications/standard I would need to be at with both side drum and bugle!
Many thanks for taking time to read this!! |

Hi Dan.. I'm afraid we've already got a DAN on here, who went all the way in the Corps of Drums...
I'm not sure how the Admin panel works, but you'll really have to change your user name..
Admin's very busy this week, but I'm sure his deputy will be able to help you here..
Send a PM to Caretaker for assistance..
You'll be made most welcome on the site once you've sorted this..
All the best matey.. _________________ 'Never moon a werewolf'. |

Hey Rab,
It could be that our antipodean Drum Major has found the elixir of youth and having enjoyed the RMB life so much first time around he's after another go! _________________ Waving, not drowning |

We have a DanA so no worries there. As I have said before, POTENTIAL is what they are looking for. Go see a brass player and ask them to give you a few pointers and practice NOW. Go to your careers office and start the joining up process and by the time you get to the audiotion you should have enough ability to show that you have potential. You could audition as a bugler and also as a percussionist. If you play kit you should be able to get you head around tuned percussion. At the audition, they don't want someone who is perfect and a solo performer (although they wouldn't say no to them obviously) but they want someone who has the potential to be taught and the potential to pass out. _________________ http://www.royalmarinesbands.co.uk
