Anyone from 3/78 troop out there, I know it's been awhile but it would be great to hear from you.

Drop me a reply and we'll have a laugh at old times.

Kev

Hi Kev

Stu Bilvers here. How's it going?

I'm still in Dartmouth,

Steve Sav and Bob Gibbs are still here and in the band (sad)

Last time I met Tiny was in Sittingbourne about 4 years ago, he was working for the paper factory there. Might be a lead for you

Regards to John if you're in touch

Stu

Tiny is in Deal... Yes DEAL in Kent!
He works at one of the institutions (Borstal or the Police cells or something similar) in Dover as far as I know. I've sent him an invite to join the forum but he is a no show as yet.

Hi Stu, Thanks for getting in touch, It's good to hear your still in Dartmouth with Bob, Sav and the rest. I came down that way a couple of years ago, visited one of the local haunts where Bob Gibs and the lads frequented but the band was on a gig so I missed them.
Anyway that's enough of that, You must be a major by now or at least a ten badger!!!!!!!!!!!
I've not really kept in touch with anyone since going civi but did bump into Bammy whilst up in Scotland last year, he's not changed a bit.
Also had contact with Tiny but I think his computer must have broken 'cos I haven't had any reply yet.
Spoke with Jim Mac last night and had a good chin wag about all of us 3/78ers that didn,t turn up for the arranged 3/78 reunion, I explained that if we'd known, both John and I would have gone. Anyway there is always the next one eh!

Talking of how we are doing, John and I are both upholding the law in Yorkshire and enjoying life with our families. John has four kids and me two with a wife each of course. I still miss the band service and the laughs that went with it but at least I've been apart of it once eh!
Hope your enjoying life in the West Country and if your ever within 30 miles of Yorkshire drop me a line and I'll pick you up for a bevy! my round.
See you for now

Kevin.

Hi Kev,

I'm Howie Staines (Percussionist) 3/79 Troop. Remember you, Tiny, Steve Castle, Stu Bilverstone et al. Last sighting of Tiny was in the RMA, Deal during a Memorial Bandstand Concert a few years ago when I was still in the RMBS with the Portsmouth Band. I believe he hails from the Kent/Medway Towns area although I'm not sure if he is still in that region. Perhaps some chaps from Deal may be able to help you further in your quest! Until then...

I do have an email address for Tiny but he must have changed it, I've ghad emails from Stu Bilvers, Dusty and some others so I'm sure 3/78ers will track me down

Thanks again Kevin.

Hi Kev,

Thanks for getting back to me I should have read all the posts before replying to you as I can see a number of other people had already got back to you regarding Tiny etc.

I left the RMBS in 2003 and am now working in IT. Managed to keep my Security Clearance from the MOD so work on Security Cleared IT Contracts/Projects for the MOD & List X Companies. Work plentiful, rewarding and lucrative! Hope life is treating you fair...

Hi kev,

Not heard from you for a while, got a call from dougie graham last week out of the blue, he is in regular contact with dave harding and he passed my numbers onto him. Dougie now is in careers in birmingham and moving to bromsgrove shortly. 20 minutes from me. We are going to meet up shortly and catch up. I take it you heard about tim smyth, myself and tracey are abit taken aback as to his untimely passing. Have got so many happy memories of him, especially when we went to hong kong and tim took me to this back street eatery or so you call it and made me try this bowl of, what I can only describe looking as a bowl of noodles and some eye balls that were still moving, I remeber now it was down in stanley market. My first and last taste of foreign delicassies.
How are you doing and what are you up to? How is your john? o.k I hope. The twins started college on monday, lewis on his guitar course and luke on his art. Apart from that, still stressed, playing squash eevry other day, running and playing golf every weekend. Apart from that the same old s--t every day. Keep in touch.

AUCH EYE THE NOO!!!!

By all means Nick, point him toward the site and tell him we are a friendly bunch
It may be an idea for the troop to be named, as much as possible, because someone always knows someone else.
