Hi, i'm new to the forum.

I am pleased to hear that the basics only last 8 weeks now, instead of 15.

I too live very close to the school of music MJ.

  I guess I will.

I'm just afraid that being so close to home, that I will be tempted to run away!

Hi Rachael and welcome...

I lived fairly close to the barracks as well...(after 7 years service lol)..

Mum's house was always full of Bandies and Bulgers lookin for big eats..

You'll just have to get nutty parcels handed in at stand easy....

Hey Rach

I too lived fairly close to Deal when I joined up, Margate just 15 miles dahn the road...

Best thing about it was being able to bale out at the weekends and get me mum to do me dhoby.

The problem was getting a weekend pass - and being the type of newbie that I was, they weren't always forthcoming. (I got in quite a lot of trouble 'cos I couldn't keep me big gob shut...)

Oh dear doesn't cover it really Rach!!

Most people learn pretty quickly that all you have to do in training is do as you're told - no more, no less.

Me? I had to ask stupid questions...

(They don't like that very much)

Couple that with the fact that I'm not a particularly fast learner and there's a recipe for trouble.

Well - that's how it used to be in my day *he said wiping the drool from his chin*
