On this the 300th Anniversary of the "Marriage" of our Countries, may I take this opportunity to thank our English spouses for protecting the beauty of our country by failing to supply us with ANY motorway north of Perth... ..I must also thank them for saving our homeland from pollution over the past 30-odd years by removing all that nasty black oil and gas from the North Sea, and re-distributing it through the British economy..

HANDS ACROSS THE BORDER MY FRIENDS..!!!!!!!!!

John Loudon MacAdam 1756-1836

Born in Ayr, he was the inventor of the Macadamising system of road making, commonly known as Tarmac. Macadamised road surfaces were adopted throughout Europe and USA and revolutionised road transport....

Surely you could build your own motorways?!!!

The way I see it, the less motorways the less nippy English tourists we get clogging up the glens and going up Ben Nevis in towel & flip-flops and having to be rescued every two minutes.

Freeeeeeeeeeeeeedom!!!
