Recorded in Chichester cathedral by Portsmouth Band and conducted by Major Nick Grace. Only for advanced order at the moment.

Falkland Sound CD

I know someone is going to say "Why didn't you have ******** or ***** on the recording?"

Looks good. As Rab said, very traditional & patriotic. Will show my mum the link when I get home as I'm sure she'll be interested (might even get her to stop talking about how fabulous MFM was )

Nice to see some old traditional and patriotic music being recorded again. Very much look forward to listening to the drum static and Last Post for a change.

Nice to see George Morrison on the recording, fine Saxamaphonist and true gentle person. Why wasn't our Town Sergeant invited...........?????

I think it was just a case of grabbing an instrumentalist for the solo that was programmed in more than anything. The four still serving guys were on the recording.

I heard that George Morrison was down for the recording. Fabulous musician, and nice touch to the Falklands tribute. Did he play any Gato Barbieri numbers ?

George played on the track Europa and it sounds mighty fine in the studio! I think that is the one he was asked to play again and again over the Falklands War by the lads. One of the Argentine PoWs called him Gato... he was that impressed with George. It is one of his lasting memories being told that!

Don't forget George served on the Uganda, which was a hospital ship at that time. So I think the Argentinian might have been a little doo lally......

They are in work having just been delivered and will be sent out straight after leave once the quality control has been carried out. I've not seen them yet but I hope they look as good as they sound

According to the booklet with the CD a very emotional Argentinian injured POW shook Georges hand as he recognised the above mentioned music. George Morrison stated that that moment would stay with him forever. Something like that anyway. You all know what I mean.
