It brings back some heady memories of when Dougie Graham used to be Bandmaster.

Not counting the time he talked me into playing Tenor Horn on a dixie gig and then gave me a 16 bar jazz solo!

Wouldn't you? It'd be like admitting to ironing creases in your jeans....

No, there have been others ! Mick Saywell and Geoff Naylor used to iron creases in their jeans, and march together in them, shopping around Ruislip. I bet no one can beat 2 ironed- jeans- people -together simultaneously !!!

P.S. - Is this a clue ? Is the Aardvark an ex- inverted chevron ?

When I was in the wing M**k D*****k used to make people iron creases down the front of their jeans before going ashore whilst Duty JNCO.("Shore leave while under training?", I hear you cry in disgust!!!)
Rather than going out looking like a K**B we used to go back and put trousers on!

Come to think of it I don't think I've ever seen someone with creases down the front of their jeans!

Brings back memories of

Rooke VBI: 'A, I don't suppose you're busy at the festival this year are you?'

Me: 'I am playing in 3 bands this year,'

R VBI: 'Fancy playing in another? Just for the marching?'

Me: 'Oh, go on then. One more can't hurt. When is the rehearsal?'

R VBI: 'Er...What rehearsal....'

Bloody ended up doing 15 minutes of marching with no rehearsal of the display or music, which was thrust into my hands 5 minutes before step off.

Good times!

I have! I know a few who still do it. I used to make people press their jeans with creases in them when they were going ashore... I'll not mention the duty Cpl who sent someone back to put a crease in their leather trousers! Wahhhhhhhh Only in Deal!
