I agree with the fact that the Sea Cadets should be renamed the Navel or Royal Navy Cadets. We keep being mixed up with the scouts and we are nothing like them.
As for not being funded by the RN we do get money from them something like 5 million per year (peanuts)and the use of navel bases for training. The Corps became a reg charity because someone at the time did not want to become pre service, but from the people I talk to from all over the country this now needs to change.

OOOoooooooooo goodie, is there we get all the interforce rivalry coming up battling its way through the cadet forces. Watch out, we'll have Boltonboyz on here soon 'giving it large' about the pongo cadets. _________________ The hard work isn' over.... Its only just begun! |

Hey Sunshine.. wind yer neck in a wee bit.. ..( good advice)..
Once you've joined ( if you have the privelige) ( difficult word to spell).
...and AFTER you've done a bit of the old basics..
THEN start forming comparisons etc...
There's a lot more to being an RMB than posting in this Forum....

YOU CANNOT GO AROUND JUST CALLING ANYONE ROYAL...THE SOVEREIGN DECIDES WHO GET THE ROYAL IN THEIR NAME....THE SEA CADETS ARE JUST A KIDS ORGANISATION......AND ITS NAVAL NOT NAVEL.........DONT FORGET THIS ORGANISATION IS ABOUT FUN.....YOU ARE NOT IN MILITARY.......I AM NOT THAT KEEN ON MILITARY ORGANISATIONS FOR KIDS.... I THINK SCOUTS HAVE MUCH MORE FUN AND DO A WIDER RANGE OF ACTIVITIES. MANY PEOPLE WHO ARE FLIP TO THE FRONTS IN THE MILITARY STYLED YOUTH ORGANISATIONS OFTEN GET AN AWFUL SHOCK WHE THEY JOIN THE REAL THING........... _________________ I do not suffer from stress but I am a carrier!! |
