Dad was born on a farm halfway from Huntington and Wayne. I was born in Huntington and after I was 2 months old, dad went back into the USAF and I never lived there again, though I have visited often. I'm a military brat, lived in Bermuda where my mum grew up and as far west as Okinawa as a kid. When I went in I was deployed in Thailand and as far east as Italy. Spent 6 months in RAF Lakenheath, 2 yrs in Zweibrucken, Germany.

I was interested in your roots because I have interests in Marlinton and Lewisburg, well not so much Lewisburg now, and spend some time WV each year

Do any of the units other than the Scotish use bagpipes in their performances?

Daniel..If you look in the Dits section of the Forum, under Lanimer Day, you will see a story from Dan Archer regarding our dearly departed mate George Coad, who was a bugler, and a very fine piper as well. He put this to good use one night in the presence of us all in Scotland Band...AND a huge selection of players from the best known Pipe Bands in Scotland. As usual, when George had "spoken", the room was filled with dropped jaws and disbelieving eyes....An irreplacable character..RIP
