Here's some pretty faces from sometime long ago in the rec space. Everybody looks sober in this one so it must have been early. This is one of the only known pics of Buster Brown holding a can of coke and Huw Morris not holding a beer! Cheers

not many of us know him as that do we? I think it was me who gave him that moniker. I was there when it was thought up.
I saw Steve at Mountbattens and called him Thug, it got a smile from him

I also called him Thug at all times, along with Hammy.

There's quite a funny dit about him supposed to be an alibi for one of our more 'profligate' members of the (Northolt) fleet band. He, the wandering one, was supposed to be at a canoeing event with Thug - trouble is he didn't tell Thug that!

Thug sees erant bandys' wife who asked of him, "Where's Paul?"

Verbal equivalent of "shrug" comes from Thug who then goes on to say he knew nothing of the canoeing he was supposed to have been partaking of.

Clever questioning by Mrs Paul, when hubby gets home - along the lines of...
"How was the canoeing?"
"Great"
"Who drove?"
"Me"
"How's Steve?"
"Fine." (Paul knew enough to know that short answers are best here!)
"Anyone else go?"
"No" (Don't complicate things)
"Did you win?"
"Wasn't a competition" (She's not normally this interested - bells starting to ring)
"That's not what I heard."
"Oh," (trying to sound blase) "What did you hear then?"
"Nothing really, just that Steve won that's all"
"Who told you that?"
"Can't remember, but they said there was quite a few of you went - why did you say that only you and Steve went?"
(Thinks quickly on feet) "Oh, I thought you meant in MY car, there were loads of the lads there."
"Who else was there then?"

Well, you can imagine how it went can't you? Poor Paul...
