MUSN Shelton...........

To learn the ninja pinch trick.

The 30 Ninja Training Steps to enlightenment

(Here are the first five)

1. First you must learn to countermarch whilst playing

2. Re-act to double beats of the Bass Drum

3. Speak to the person next to you, without being noticed by the Drum Major

4. Become a Master in the art of 'Reparte'

5. Learn to duck when the proverbial S*@T hits the fan

Hey there, I'm Chris,
I just passed my audition in May & I'm due to start basics on Sept 4th 06. I'm a French Horn, Cornet player and a pianist, yet Ive been accepted on Clarinet and Viola!!
So yes.....Ive had to lay down my beloved Horn and get to grips with licking a piece of wood, still the way I look at, if I'm being paid to play music, I'm laughing!

You'll love it!

I was a trombonist (debatable!) before joining.
Did 26 years as a hornplayer (even more debatable!)

Not so sure about doing the basic training again. We only did 4/5 weeks in my day. (Noise of lamp swinging in the background!)

BTW, you will have to get that bit of a female head removed from the side of your face before joining! (See Avatar)

No more Ninja tricks Countermarching, Ducking when the S$$$ hits the fan is easy, try Five or six pints at lunch time, afternoon performance at the RT, couple of egg butties then repeat dose and do evening show, as 2nd Clarinet stated elsewere on this site down in one and walk back on board in a straight line at two in the morning, or this which you cant do anymore join the Reunion six in the morning club, go to Church and then have an afternoon session, ah the old days of yor, but on a serious note(Bflat) if you want enjoy yourself its a great family to be in I look forward to seeing you in Portsmouth in October, enjoy this site you might not learn a lot but you can have some fun.

We've done steps 1 to 6

7. Being able to get 'gripped' for the evening and still come back to your pit having not spent a penny!
