When I was on FOF3 my String Bass only had 3 strings. Managed to get a 4th when we got back to Pompey 6 months later.

11 strings is pure cheating... ..His top string would be away up at Gb.....Bass players get dizzy up there...

First cheat I saw was Dutch Swing College Band Double Bass player with 5 strings....

And Deli...You should know mate.. There isn't a bass player on earth who can walk in a straight line....

Very good. Never saw him once pluck any of the lower (that would be the bass perhaps) strings. So, not only is he not a bass player I don't expect for one moment he can slow march.

Visited Greenwich Maritime Museum at the weekend. In one of the Galleries I heard a nice rendition of the Prelude from Bach's Suite No 1 for Unaccompanied Cello. Followed the sound and discovered it was being played by a young fella, 17-18 tops. He was playing it standing up slightly crouched and looking extremely uncomfortable. Felt like opening the door and saying, "Brilliant, very good. Now play it sitting down!"

I think there's more skill in playing a Bass with three strigs than there is needed for eleven strings....Well done Chalky mate, truly inspirational..

11 string electric bass tuning (low to high)
C#-F#-B-E-A-D-G-C-F-Bb

The bottom C# sounds around 17hz to give you an idea how rumbley it is!

I'm such a geek.

Didn't count - honest injun...

(How rude of me, I didn't introduce myself *sticks hand out* Stuart Thorn of dogend band fame 1969 - 1984. Pleased to meet you. Welcome to the forum.)

I fully understand if you'd like to string Aa Aa along a bit more and not cough your name up.
