So sad to inform you that my dear old friend BOB BAKER passed away yesterday at 1645 his family was at his bedside.BoB and I go back a long way we were boys together in the late 50s and served on the Hermes together for the first commission in 1960. I only spoke to his wife a couple weeks ago whilst at the concert in Deal where she told me of his condition and now he has left us to join the great and good massed band elswhere. My most sincere condolences to his wife and all other members of his family, and to those who knew and had the pleasure to serve with Bob in the great family that is the RMB, I will miss him as I am sure many others will.
BOB BAKER RIP

I first knew Bob when he was an instructor, and served with him again with FOF3 band where he was the B/M. A fine man and great musician, he also possessed a wicked sense of humour.
I extend my deepest sympathies to his family, another sad loss to us all.
RIP Bob.

Sad news. Bob was the CSM in Trg Wing when I got promoted to Sgt. He sold me a mess jacket which i duly sold some years later for the same price. I could fit in the jacket, but not his musical boots.
RIP Bob.

Yes Eric we where there with Bob on FOF3.  What a gentelman he was, also we where so luckly to have a bandmaster of his experience in charge of the band or JJ would have run all over us.
RIP Bob.
