I think it would be possible to place her at South Railway Jetty Les. Close to Mary Rose, Warrior and HMS Victory. Security wouldn't be much different from what it is at present. Just a thought.

And while they're at it, why don't they just hitch Dicovery from Dundee on the back and steal her as well....Oh, and while you're at it, we'll send you Edinburgh and Stirling Castles, The Trossachs and Glencoe. This'll save all the tourists the trouble of travelling all that way to see "Beautiful Britain"...And even save the "yottie" section of Massed Bands from yet another long coach trip for Tatoos....

HELLO !! WE'RE STILL PART OF BRITAIN !!!

I would of thought that it doesnt matter where the roayal yacht ended up. All that counts would be the memories that people had when they were all part of the crew. I'm sure that your memories will be happy and noone can take that away, or remove them.

Memories are things that won't change Rab, wherever you move the material things, the memories are always inside you.

Well Rab - I'm surprised at the level of authority you seem to have acheived and thanks for the offer!!! Send 'em down, Saves me a trip...

And why are you suddenly talking about 'tatoes'? I know you're into fruit and veg now, but you don't need to advertise on this forum do you? Oh well, I'll start the ball rolling - send a 56lb bag down with the ships will ya? :smt046

Can I have some sprouts whilst you are at it?

With all the redeveloping that has gone on in Leith I don't see why the Yacht should be moved. It attracts people to another and different area of Edinburgh that has a very rich history. If she were shipped down to Pompey they could put her on the other side of the Warrior jetty or South Railway Jetty because let's face it, another few years of cuts and they Yacht, Victory and Warrior will be be the navy, all of it!

I think your right 5 new destroyers to protect 2 new carriers (without any fighters). If you read the news euro fighter crashes and it looks as it will not be good enough.Lets build our own we are good enough. Two fine examples harrier & buccaneer you can go on but i wont even the carriers bits are all over the place

Deli, you can't get sprouts from Scotland. Only haggis suppers.

Sprouts come from Brussels !
