Can't say i remember him. The QE2, did't reall get near the Falkland Islands. The troops she transported to the South Atlantic, were cross decked onto the Canberra, miles away from the Falklands. There was a little chant,  "P&O cruises, where Cunard refuses". No love, lost there between the two ships.

After dodging icebergs, we eventually spotted the QE2!

The cross-decking of the troops took place off the coast of South Georgia. We took onboard the Welsh & Scots Guards and Johnny Gurkha (made the boss feel at home!)

When 'Percy' disembarked the Canberra, they left her in a worse state than the 4000+ Argentine POWs!

RIP Capt Jackson.

It fondly says in the article he always gave three blasts [as opposed to not giving two hoots]  I think that is the signal for going astern, which I seem recall which be an apt description for most of the seamen i met on Cunard and P&O

At the risk of being the fish on someones hook, i am sure that the reference to going astern and the seamen of the two cruise companies, is a reference to people who wear "brown hats"

Wee Mac you have done me a great service by throwing yourself on the sword of explanation: Therfore my horse is your horse, my donkey is your donkey and my ass is my ass, so don't get any ideas!

You could always delete it and make me look foolish(er than I already do)!

I put that last bit in brackets to head off TS who's probably lurking ready to pounce on my comment.

Ooh, you have to be quick with him around...

"There was a little chant,  "P&O cruises, where Cunard refuses"."

Canberra cruises where QE2 refuses.  It was on a banner held up by some EF when Canberra sailed in to Southampton.

I was going to delete it, then I thought it would be nice to let the lads have their fun.

If you remember Brian, we shared a cabin on the Canberra for several weeks and I've as seen your ass. You're quite safe!
Although there were a few irate Bootnecks who were after it, when you decided it would be amusing, to shout out during the silent hours and tell us all to make for the life boats.
As usual, Al White was in front.

(I think you had been on an illegal visit to the crews bar)
