Hi Andy.
We actually have a cleaner in our nick who can do this off the top of his head. He's made  a hand written record of the top ten every since god knows when.  Just give him your date of birth and he tells you what was number one within seconds. We obviously checked it out and to date, he's been spot on every single time. Spooky!!! (He's still a crap cleaner though)LOL

For me it was Ruby Murray with Softly, Softly.....

(That's odd......I always thought it was Frank Windsor & Stratford Johns?)

Seems like we have either the same birthdate or her song was #1 for a while.

That could have been a possibility seeing as how Manty was the worlds number recording artist in the fifties until someone named Elvis came along.

'Cara Mia' by Dave Whitfield with Chorus & Mantovani & his Orchestra

No Number 1 Album, the chart hadn't been started way back then.
