Do you play on ships and travel about doing civilian gigs in the band service?

Quite the contrary (depending which Band you end up in)

eg.. Old Chatham Band it was an offence to be sober after 1130hrs (that's in the morning, as you'll learn at RMSM, Dartmouth or teacher training college, depending on which career path you finally choose)..

FOSNI Band were never seen sober other than on Royal Yacht duties, and Staff Band  were actually taught to drink on stage with their pinkies in the air....

I hope these replies make as much sense as your posts whoever you may be. Personally I'm enjoying this, but you ain't foolin me, and if we receive just one complaint from our elite RMB members......

YOU'RE OOT 'O HERE..!!!!!!!!

If you want info on being drunk on a gig talk to early dog ends  not that we were ever drunk ,ie in the good old days of Pete (RIP ) Sumner two gigs in a week  at Kiel Woche, especially during the Osterhalle Concert, German Naval Band, crates  by the dozen  passed around to all, refused of course????? . But of course after those day's it all went wrong  we had to do more along another DoM who has passed away, and a tenacious D/M, followed of course by another DoM  whom I will not mention by name but we were all great survivors. As another dog end from this era say's. Dog Ends Rule

I'm sure you're right Stu, I'm sure he's got stuff on me as I reckon we've served together in 2, possibly 3 bands. I may even have written a 365a for him, if he was ever a candidate.
