I was on that recording. I think I may have a copy in storage somewhere. The phot/artwork on the front was Staff Band marching out of the Hovercraft the Princess Margaret at Dover. Mick Eastbrook was the soloist on Alfie. I will try and find it. _________________ Still driving trains around in circles! (and a bit further now) |

I think I may have found a copy in Portsmouth... I'm told the musicianship and performances on the recording are brilliant. Hopefully I'll have a copy in my hand this weekend
Thanks to everyone for their input... _________________ http://www.royalmarinesbands.co.uk

The arrangements by Ray Woodfield of the Bacharach songs were excellent and I'm sure that the music is still played today
I was in the horn section at the RAH for the MFM Concert in 1974 and it was a privilege to play alongside Frank Lloyd who, in addition to the playing the horn solo in Alfie, played Nimrod (Young Winston) on a brand new Paxman Horn bought that day!
(It was decided that Frank would play the solo, rather than all four 1st Horns, who slaughtered it at the rehearsals in Deal!) _________________ Nill Illigitimi Carborundum |
