How about theory wise? How much theory knowledge am i expected to have? Does that include aural testing?

How much theory does a Bulger need????? It's either Loud or very Loud.

Aural? five notes, take your pick. relax mate..

And the ability to count to 10 without stopping.

I feel a tinge of Jealousy and envy, by some people who obviously cannot achieve these fine Attributes.

Admin........are you telling porkies again?

An average person breathes between 8 and 10 times per minute. Let's use 9 then!
60 x minutes in the day = 540 times per hour.
24x hours in a day= 12,960 times a day.
10.5 days in a week and a half= 136,080 times in a week and a half.

You would hyperventilate if you breathed that quickly......approx 794 times a minute (132 times a second)
OR
You'd be the world tripple tounging champion.

Perhaps he is..............

Then again, he only had to count to ten, the rest didn't matter..........

Well, my audition commences next Monday. I've been doing PT with the air force ROTC guys down here so I think I'll breeze through the physical aspect of the audition. I have a more than one piece prepared for my snare assessment and I've been studying my theory every day. I have yet to choose what I should be playing during my bugle assessment however. I was thinking about choosing a number of bugle calls, most like a mixture of American and British calls. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would be most appropriate to play during an audition. Also I was hoping for some final pointers/tips on the audition as a whole.

I was taught a good tip once. I was never ever a racing snake, but the best advice I received was to always breath out........... breathing in is natural, but people tend to hold on to their breath longer than necessary. So, breathe out is a good tip.

Hello once again, it's been a while since I posted here, been quite busy since November. Well the audition went very well, even with a few blunders through my bugle audition they saw fit to accept me as a bugler. I report for basic on September 5th. Needless to say I'm very excited to begin and I wanted to thank everyone here for the pointers and general help.

I also had a quick question. I was planning on getting a tattoo this summer and I was wondering if anyone here knew what the policy was on tattoos. Obviously I've seen quite a few RM's with multiple tattoos and I've heard that the policy was nothing above the collar and nothing below the cuff line, but I just wanted to double check. I was planning on getting one up my upper back and wanted to be positive it wouldn't cause any problems further down the road with my entry.

Thanks again.
