The Band of the Royal Daves

There we were, in the Grosvenor hotel for a gig. In came the event manager and walked up to the first table. She looked at the one she thought was in charge and asked if he was Dave "Yes" said Dave Bromley. Dave Cole also said "I'm Dave as well" and the girl looked at the person sat next to Dave Cole and said "I suppose you are called Dave as well aren't you?", "Yes" replied Dave Davis.
ID cards were shown and the poor girl looked shocked "Oh My Lord, we've hired the band of the Daves". Myself and Ash Williams still call each other Dave when parsing in HQ.
I suppose you had to be there!

I can nearly top that! Out on Pompey on the pull and there were five of us out including John Hardiman. I wont go on about the age of the girl he was chatting up, but he introduced us to her, "This is Rich, Rich, Rich and Rich!" Needless to say he went home alone that night!!! Four Rich's in the same troop was a nightmare!!

Another 4 "Pompey Riches" even... ..... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

How rare..
Hornblower

I can nearly black cat that!!

Whilst at Dartmouth we had the luxury(?) of having 3 horn players. Stu Thorn on 1st, Stu Bilverstone on 2nd and Stu Waite on 3rd.

I have a programme somewhere that names the 3 of us as the soloists in (and here comes that tune again!) French Horns country style (whoop )

In a band service that had very few Stuarts in it, BRNC had 3 and they were all horn-holders.

French Horns Country Style - NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Hornblower

Yup - 'fraid so Jos...

It really wasn't my choice honest. If it were up to me, I wouldn't have even done the gig, let alone play a 'solo'...

Right, showing my youth again, but what are talking about?!
Hornblower

Suffice to say that you should be glad that you haven't had to play it!

It's just a little piece that's supposed to showcase the horns is all.

What do you play Sharpy? (I expect I should know this if I've been following the threads, but I'm having to read so much at the mo that it probably slipped past me.)
Sharpy

Im a Tromobe player (allegedly!!) sometimes allowed to play Guitar as well!!!
Hornblower

You seem to have a loose canon on board your keyboard Sharpy!

Surely you mean Tromoboe???

(Lovely sound when played proper like! a bit like a cross between a double reeded trombone and a Cor with a mouthpiece)

Mmmmmmmmmmm thick syrupy sound......

Didn't we pay Wally (Waters) to lose that !!

It's about as crowd pleasing as "In The Mood" on the Oboe
