Royal Marines Band recordingsI would like to advise your readers that Cinque Port Music, in Deal specialises in RM band recordings and has a considerable catalogue.We have just aded 45 new brass band titles to the catalogue, all from the Obrasso company in Switzerland with many arrangements by Ray Woodfield, Alan Fernie, Goff Richards, etc. We also present RM concerts in Margate and Folkestone in addition to organising the annual All Stars Band concert which has raised almost £130,000 for the Royal Marines Band Benevolent Fund, The Deal Memorial Bandstand Trust and many other worthy charities. Hi Steve. I was trying to get a recording of an MFM concert. Can't remember the year, it was either 1993/4/5 ? Twas the one where we had an orchestra and a Big Band playing. Can you help....Booty :O)

Mountbatten Festival RecordingsTry the Blue Band, I think they still have many past recordings. Telephone: 02392 726173 or find them at www.royalmarinesbands.co.uk.I can no longer stock past recordings because the Blue Band instigated a policy of only supply 25 units of the same title. I wouldn't mind buying five of five different years but I would never sell 25 units of, say, the 2002 recording, so I have had to delete them from my catalogue. Should they change this silly policy I wil again sell their recordings. |

We tend to use Discurio as they are a specialist in out of press recordings http://www.tillystips.com/dis/
They have loads of titles from the many military bands of the UK and other nations. If they don't have it, they will possibly know a man who does. If it is MFM 1993 then it is here: http://www.royalmarinesbands.co.uk/catalogue/mfm93.htm but only on cassette. As to the 'silly policy' I will not get into debate about this in an open forum as it has already been explained and investigated previously. Suffice to say that Blue Band is but a small cog in a larger wheel and policy is handed down from higher authority. |
