Never saw him once pluck any of the lower (that would be the bass perhaps) strings. So, not only is he not a bass player I don't expect for one moment he can slow march. Visited Greenwich Maritime Museum at the weekend. In one of the Galleries I heard a nice rendition of the Prelude from Bach's Suite No 1 for Unaccompanied Cello. Followed the sound and discovered it was being played by a young fella, 17-18 tops. He was playing it standing up slightly crouched and looking extremely uncomfortable.
