Raymon West

The following details of Raymon West were passed on to Juliet Wills and I am sure that there are others out there who would like to know his whereabouts and he no doubt would appreciate old mates making contact.
His snail mail address  is:    19 Underbank Blvd
                                                  Bachus Marsh
                                                  Victoria  3340
                                                  Australia.

Raymon John Clemetron West is a very old friend of mine. Alto Sax and (very good) violin. First Ship HMS Sussex Far East Fleet 1947. We served together at HMS Ganges briefly in 1950 and then for a full foreign commission in HMS Glasgow
1952/54 under the baton of Lt "Ernie" Ough. He was also the official ships photographer, doing a lot of official work for Admiral Louis Mountbatten, including the pictorial record of the of the meeting of the Admiral and  Marshal Tito during our first visit to Communist Yugoslavia in 1953. After leaving the Band service he served with the RNZ Navy band under  Lt Gordon Maclean . I was last in touch with Ray in Australia in 1977.

Having spoken to Ray just recently he tells me that he is waiting for a hip replacement and therefore is unlikely to attend the reunion in March.  He told me that he will be sending a whole package of photographs soon and I am  to do as I wish with them. I will of course pass them on to  any one who is interested.
As he only lives a couple of hours from where I live it is my intention to go and see him after our reunion taking Mick Hutton who will be here in Bendigo for a few days before flying back to the UK.
I am assuming Sir, that you will be making contact.
