Mark - have a look at your keyboard.
Done it yet? Take another second...
Just below the K & L keys (just to the right & below) you'll see another 2 with little arrows above what looks like a full stop on the right-hand one and a baby tadpole on the other.
The one on the right actually IS a full stop - which is why it looks like one. The other is not really a baby tadpole, it's a comma - sometimes used to represent a pause in speech.
Usually, when you take a breath in real life, a comma is employed in the written word to show it.
Women don't use these in real-life speech because it gives other people a chance to get a word in edgeways.
Us men however, do use them. (See, I put one in there - ooh and another!)
Sorry mate - couldn't resist!
Don't let me put you off, you just go right on ahead and put what you like.
The important bit is that you come back often and get your dits out for us all.

Hey Muppet,
Glad to see you on this forum - comma - you'll have some fun here and see a lot of old mates/cobbers- stop
How's that old Datsun Cherry? I remember that well. Twink Starr is on board as well as Stuey Thorn.
You'll get to meet people you've never met before and, with any luck you might meet them at an RMB reunion.
Enjoy Muppet

Hi Muppet,
I was on Blake in 78 when you came on board with Chatham Band. George and Al Brooker were the other Buglers. The Band joined the ship in Long Beach and departed the Ship in San Francisco.
Me and Geoff Naylor were the ships Buglers.

DOGENDS RULE OK | Hi again Mark,
No , i didn't go to the bbq. When you were on the Blake, I 'm sure you were in 2d2 mess ! I was in 2D1 fwd, the one that encircled the 6" gun turret. The other ships bugler, Geoff Naylor, was in 2 L, which was situated just aft of the galley.
Was the bbq in Esquimalt, or Vancouver?

DOG ENDS RULE OK. | Never mind if you don't remember me. When i find it , I'll email you a photo taken in Esquimalt, just after I was promoted. My mess was a very social one, along with the other two fwd gunners messes. An awful lot of beer was consumed, even though we had only 3 per day. You used to come for "tins" in our mess, with Al, Steve Grant and Sproz. If you don't know, Sproz sadly Passed away some time ago. If you look at the obituary section, you will be able to read the posts.
