Nice pictures!
My onlyworry is that my camera is a little bit nice-not amazing -but quite good.
I only have a soft case for it so I'm thinking maybe a small tuperware box with some padding in it will protect it - I know it will leave less room in my bergen but worth it for the piccies I think.

Dont worry, once you are shown how to pack a bergen you'll be surpised how much spare space you have, and that you'll have plenty of soft stuff in there where you can stow a camera

Nonsense!! You should have seen the size of the camera that took this....Heavier than the radio it was. mmmm that lovely hazy dawn light trapped on film for ever.

Either way you look at it it's not long now!
It's crazy for me to think that right now I'm sitting working in an office (should be working I should say) and next week I will be training in the worlds finest Military Band.

flash photography in the field is axctually encouraged, especially when it is the dead of night.
Or ... just before first light is always a good time totake photos, the light quality, when you use the flash, is superb. many of the Naval photographic competitions have been won by people who have done this very same thing. |
Oh my poor sides - pass me another rib someone...

Here's a good wind up using HBM.......rip off approx 18" + of tape then pick at the edge until you release a single strand of the white sticky part. Lay that strand on a wing, door or any other part of your mates immaculate polished car and wait for the reaction when he/ she thinks it has been scratched with a key.

Even funnier when it is a warrant officers car and he has a total sense of humour failure when the culprit walks up and removes it whilst the warrant officer is off going to find people to show it to and comes back to find the 'scratch' gone!
