Nice pictures!
My onlyworry is that my camera is a little bit nice-not amazing -but quite good.
I only have a soft case for it so I'm thinking maybe a small tuperware box with some padding in it will protect it - I know it will leave less room in my bergen but worth it for the piccies I think.
Jimbo

Dont worry, once you are shown how to pack a bergen you'll be surpised how much spare space you have, and that you'll have plenty of soft stuff in there where you can stow a camera
Fizzie

5 days to go!!!

I think the main argument against taking a camera into the field is that you really don't want to be carting around any unneccesary weight! However, I do see the attraction of getting some phot's,but you'll probably be too knackered to care about taking any pictures though.

Nonsense!! You should have seen the size of the camera that took this....Heavier than the radio it was. mmmm that lovely hazy dawn light trapped on film for ever.

hmhmhm you're not the only one! I'm not very good at maths or anything but I think I worked it out right...that from 11:00am today, there will be only 148 hours until we start at 15:00 on Monday!!!!

MJ

Either way you look at it it's not long now!
It's crazy for me to think that right now I'm sitting working in an office (should be working I should say) and next week I will be training in the worlds finest Military Band.
Wow!

You go for it!

flash photography in the field is axctually encouraged, especially when it is the dead of night.

Or ... just before first light is always a good time totake photos, the light quality, when you use the flash, is superb. many of the Naval photographic competitions have been won by people who have done this very same thing.

Oh my poor sides - pass me another rib someone...

bootybandy

Somehow the words fun and training I find difficult to say in the same sentence.....Oh bother, I just did it.....Nurse !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fizzie

2 weeks into training and although there has been a few thrashings already (late for inspection on the field so it was back into the lake for us singin the wheels on the bus) it has actually been a right laugh!

2 weeks gone, only 8 to go...

We appear not to have needed a specific black or navy blue dish...any colour will do as long as it's clean!

After al lthat and I didn't even need one!
ZedHorn

ah well, it wasted a few valuable minutes of taxpayers best on here!!! :-)
MJ

Wonderful stuff - repairs all - use a little or alot - as required
Nish

It makes for a good first aid kit too!
Jimbo

aah, pussers maskers, what a wonderful thing. You can make anything out of it. I seem to remember helping to make a euchre deck out of it once, hehe
MrJpig

Here's a good wind up using HBM.......rip off approx 18" + of tape then pick at the edge until you release a single strand of the white sticky part. Lay that strand on a wing, door or any other part of your mates immaculate polished car and wait for the reaction when he/ she thinks it has been scratched with a key.
Wolfy

Oh What A Wizard Wheeze!!! Haven't seen the wonderful stuff since I went outside. Must try and find me some.

Even funnier when it is a warrant officers car and he has a total sense of humour failure when the culprit walks up and removes it whilst the warrant officer is off going to find people to show it to and comes back to find the 'scratch' gone!
