Malky "Biff" BeaverOne of the original Chatham Dog-ends is retiring to Cyprus next month (Feb) and Biff wanted me to let you all know that he's having a leaving do on 2nd Feb in the Commodore Hotel HELENSBURGH and that anyone who knows him is invited.
Live music provided by a 10 piece RM Band, disco, big eats and as much drink as you can afford.
Accommodation available in the Hotel.

I'm having a bit (another really) of a senility lapse here, but I think I was one of the few who attended Biff's wedding in Dover circa '69/70, where we were all dressed in Blues...( Well we couldn't afford Tesco suits then)
It was either his or Taff Ryan's big day, and a good run ashore...
I remember Biff's wife's 'Big Eats' Sunday roasts for inliers at their maisonette, and many a happy gig in the good/career-ending Pembroke days...
Sorry can't be there either, as Partner's and Brother's Birthdays fall either side..
But hey ho guys.. Have a ball...

Spent many an evening around Biff's (the man with the 'tache) pussers house in Pembroke, drinking his home made brew, and babysitting for him and his wife.
I believe the Chatham Dogend 'I survived TF' tee-shirt, is a good likeness and based on our Biff (Malcolm) Beaver
Lots of gigs, trips, runs ashore and fun memories with my fellow 'off beat' Clarinetist.
Please pass on my congratulations on his retirement to Cyprus, and let us all know his new address so we can bum a cheap holiday out of him!!!!!

'Cos Biff's in the same job as me, I got to see him a lot post-RMBS and have to say that he never (ever) changed a single jot...
...still the same ol' same ol' boring bugger!!!!  
We've had some great runs together too and I wish him, and of course his lovely wife, well in Cyprus.
Gotta just tell you one small dit about him - we have a mutual friend who's also in our force who lives and works in Gosport. Biff got on so well with him that he decided to 'up sticks' from his beloved Scotland and head south, complete with family.
They had great times together, but our mutual friend was easily led and Biff is a great leader in the art of Bacchanalian pursuits!!! Our friends' wife put up with it for quite a time, 'cos Biff is also a great charmer.
However, our friend's wife got more and more threaders and eventually this led to an ultimatum "It's Biff or me, either you stop seeing him or I go."
And she meant it.
Biff went back to Scotland.
Our mutual friend is living happily ever after and his liver is totally cured (no - not pickled. Cured!)
True story.
Please pass on my best wishes, unfortunately I can't be there - if however he decides to have a 2 week party in Cyprus....

Last time I saw Biff was at the 100th Reunion we spent the whole evening sharing a few drinks and a good old chat about our dogend day's, with Andy Cunningham in tow as well. If anyone should see him please give him my best wishes and good luck in his forth coming venture. Til a question would the other member of your profession that you mention have the initials PH and his wifes name is Margaret???? I know one of that name who resides in Gosport and I see him regulary at Portsmouth.

I will certainly pass on all your kind thoughts. Biff hasn't changed over the years; still has the "tash" and still loves his beer.

Biff,nice too hear you are alive and well.Many fond mems of runs as-=hore.Chats in particular plus up homers on the estate. in Deal retired still plenty to do what with wife ,parrot ,spaniel, ferrets. Enjoy your new life yours Mick Hughes.
