Keith Shipman

More bad news by the look of it I'm afraid. I was reading Richard Wright's comments about Hedley's funeral and noticed his last sentence. I last saw Keith some 15 years ago on the Strand in Deal taking a lunch break in the cab of his securicor wagon. I'm not quite sure whether he was one of the original dogends but I served quite some time with him in Chats.

"If it could be described as lovely, it was the way that Hedley's funeral went.  Standing room only, fine music, applause, laughter, blue skies, sun, warmth & so many old friends.  Then I was told that Keith Shipman had left us due to the dreadful C."

RIP Keith
Mr Bass Trombone

Thanks H you saved me a job. I have just returned from the WCR, and dear Albert was present(no entertainment) amd he informed us of the passing of Kieth. No he was not an original Dog End he had left before I arrived, I am not sure when he left but I do know he went up the hill to Brompton and spent several years with REs band. It is yet another of one who was a boy with me who has left us, clarinet tenor sax and fidddle were his play things. He was a very likeable guy, I seem to remember last seeing him in similar circumstances to you.
RIP Kieth and my condolences to all of his family and friends that are the wider family of the RMB. You all out there take care and to those of you that turn up I will see you all in October in Portsmouth.
