Junior Command Course

Hi All,

I am new to this site and thought I would register seeing that my Son Owen is a member of the Portsmouth RMVCC (and has been for several years now). He is a member of the B & D and plays Drums and Bugle. He thoroughly enjoys attending on a Tues & Frid night!

He has been informed that he is due to start the Junior Command Course. Which obviously I am thrilled about. He mentioned that he may have some tests to do. Can anyone enlighten me?? What sort of "tests" are these? Would he need to swot up on the History of the RMVCC etc??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mic,
I'm not sure about cadet command courses but would imagine he will have to do a lecture, take a PT period, do a progress test on the things he is taught like Corps History, units and general Corps knowledge. I would suggest that the cadet forces might be able to shed some more light on it as I can only make educated guesses.

Welcome to the site...

Hi there,

Many thanks for the reply regarding my question regarding the Junior Command Course. I wanted to get as much information as possible to assist my son, so will suggest he speaks to his seniors.

Kind regards,
