Huw Morriss

I can't think where to put this information about Huw, but as he served on the Yacht for a while, this seems a good a place as any.
For those who don't know, Huw is suffering from pancreatic and liver cancer. He is home in Wales living with his sister while he undergoes chemotherapy.

Huw is failrly upbeat mentally but has lost some weight and suffers from side effects of his treatment.

If any one wants his phone number, email me and I will forward it.

Hi Len,

You won't know me but I remember Huw from my days in Pompey Band and on HMY in the mid-late '80's and early '90's - trips to Australia (the Aden one with the moustache growing contest, a couple of trips to Brazil when Dave Bromley was the Bandmaster and a few others in between). I'm probably remembered for being a rubbish viola player! I took my wife up to Edinburgh last Autumn so she could see the Yacht. Not a bad effort of looking after the old girl - the yacht, that is, and we got to go into the wreck space, which isn't normally allowed to visitors). Brought the memories flooding back, mostly of days at sea and uckers, for some reason.....I also got to put my old bunk up, which was rather amusing for the other visitors that day....Also, remember lining the stairs when it was too wet for a Royal Beat Retreat? On our visit I stood on the 2nd to bottom step at attention, my wife pretended to be the Queen, nodded to me and I brought the Band to the Ready and then my wife took a photo. Funny thing was, that all the other visitors started copying us! Maybe you had to be there but it was rather funny.

I will always remember those Yacht trips as very special.....

Please pass on my very best wishes to Huw.

Regards

Thanks for the update. Taff is a good bloke and a good run ashore, lets hope the treatment is effective.
