Greetings All

Hi All

Been a lurker for far too long and decided to take the plunge last week when I found my certificate for the coveted Dipstick Award deservedly awarded for putting my trousers in the red hot pressing machine in the changing grot in K block and then rushing off home (Thanks Billy Walker for the lift by the way)  Anyway more clues, took over from Trev Waters in the Cliffe Road chapter of the Strood Super Pigs, survived Terry Freestone, spent many a cultured afternoon in the Gladyer Inn Rosyth with Taff Ryan and Jock Marshallsey, and finally packed away the cornet and violin away almost 10 years ago.  K block didn’t burn down of course, but the guys in higher training weren’t impressed.

Hello Mate! Wecome on board!!!
RAB

I think you were serving while I was still in KP, but a wee bit younger than me....

I'm delighted to see you kept such attrocious company as Ryan & Marshallsey, two very dear mates of mine as well. I hope you've recovered from the memories of that pair, and the liver's on the mend.

A hearty welcome aboard mate, and sounds like you'll have some good dits to add....

A very warm welcome from me too

Welcome chum!

The 'Dipstick Award' I'd forgotten about that! It has brought a smile to my face this morning!!

Of course, there were those that liked to hog it!

Can't remember who made the 'Dipstick' trophy?

Happy days!

And yet another Dogend comes out of lurkdom!!!

Hi KP - I obviously know you and you me, but from your clues so far my addled old brain hasn't managed to work out yer name.

Any more clues?

Keep the posts coming, this site needs posters not lurkers to keep it going, so thanks for 'coming out!'...

I seem to remember Trev Davis or Dean Pavey for some reason, they got the idea from Plymouth. I was one of the first recipients!

Hi again

Thanks for the big welcome guys, more clues  - Joined Chatham in 77 with Bob Nelson, Benny Benville, Lou Dickinson, Phil Lampton and a few others.  Enjoyed the Malta and Naples trip that year and headed of on the Windies deployment with Bob Gill in 78.  I am at the front of the queue in the pic you posted in “name names” in the phot section.  You could say I have always enjoyed a good feed and was always on the look out for a “thicker pie”

Hi Admin, yes the music police were closing in on me fast so I had to seek refuge in Higher training!!  Gave me the chance to make amends for smoking them out that day !!

Aha!

That had me baffled for a minute or 2 when you said you joined with BB in 77 'cos I left in 77 and you weren't there then.

Anyway Keef, you lied to me, you're not at the front of the queue at all (which makes a pleasant change!)

I've got another picture wiv you 'n me 'bashing' spuds.

Good to see your cyber voice mucker - thanks for the clues.
