Festival of Remembrance

I'm not sure if this is in the right section, but I'm actually looking for the name of a piece of music.

I'm told it's normally (traditionally?) played as the "Chelsea Pensioners" walk in at the Festival of Remembrance in the Royal Albert Hall.

Anyone any ideas what I'm on about?
townsergeant

It's called:

'Boys of the Old Brigade'

Really?

My mate told me that was the name, but I doubted him because that's also the title of an IRA song.

Somehow I doubt if there the same thing!
townsergeant

It certainly is an IRA Song as well...

........but the march, 'Boys of the Old Brigade' is what the Chelsea Pensioners march on to at the RAH Festival of Remembrance.

I did a bit of searching on Youtube there and managed to find an American high school band playing it.

Only after wading through pages of that other **** version, though.

Thanks.

Close but that isn't 'Boys of the Old Brigade' that is played at the festival
General Melchett

Yep, right name - wrong composer! Try Myddleton.
Jings

This is all very confusing.

I found several websites that said that the Chambers' one was used by the Chelsea Pensioners. But after looking for Myddleton I found more that siad it was his one, and it does sound more familiar, so thanks.

ps can we start a campaign to have these things uniquely named?
General Melchett

The Boys' of the Old Brigade - Myddleton IS the one you are after! NOT and I repeat NOT the Chambers.

Don't trust everything you read on the net - trust an RM Librarian!

I really hope that you mean an RMB Librarian?? What would a Bootneck PWI Librarian know about Mr Myddleton?
General Melchett

I can't remember describing my SQ as PW?

I'm sure I said RM and then libs.......Hey-ho
Jimbo

I have to add, I have never met a PW Librarian. Does such a thing even exist?? I dont think so.
