DQ's and related Tales

Seeing stories of DQ's in another thread and not wishing to hi-jack that thread any more, than it has  already, i started this one.

Some time during the mid 70's, we were in our accommodation in St Andrews Barracks, Malta.
We were just loafing about, trying to stop getting bored and keep out of the glaring heat. Doing things like, throwing boots, knives etc, at the large ceiling fans and seeing who would get hit first.
A loud knock at the open door. It was CSGT John Neary. 41 CDO's Drill Instuctor. A big friendly sort of chap, who would often pop in for a chat and coffee. Anyway,......... he stayed for about 15 minutes, drinking his coffee and chatting and making us laugh with his tales on numerous subjects.
As he finished his drink, he was offered another but declined. The offer to stay a while longer was repeated. John thanked us but, he had to go, saying he had to take a prisoner for Drill. We thought he would then make his way to the Guardroom and collect his victim, for some fun in the sun. John then told us that the prisoner was outside on the road. When he left, we followed him....... and sure enough, there he was, a sweat soaked Marine, who had been marking time for the past 20 minutes.
Don't know what his crime was but he sure paid for it!
