|
|
Folks,
can anyone advise where I'd be able to pick up large(ish) quantities of surplus/used uniforms etc?
I've been trying to find the capes used by the band (see below), but they rarely show up anywhere in surplus shops or ebay and the like.
Similarly I've been looking for the "frock coats" (as below), and I can't turn them up anywhere.
As I say Im looking for quite a few - somewhere between 50 and 100 - so buying them 1 at a time of ebay (or whatever) is no good as they so rarely appear for sale.
Does anyone know what happens to used/surplus items? |

MOD sales is the best place but capes are still used. Frock coats are made for individuals (2-3 per band) so they are very rarely on sales as they are only replaced when they are in a poor state of repair. _________________ http://www.royalmarinesbands.co.uk

Basically I've no chance on the coats, then?
BTW By "MOD sales" do you mean these people?

Are the uniforms themselves changed much more frequently? There seems to be plenty of them about. |

I was in Raleigh band at the time, so nights out in Fife were few and far between. Thrrrp. _________________ Use the soft part of your finger!! |

On the very old ones look for;
HB
MBT

On the newer ones, look for the rest of us.......
