Hi everybody,

I'm a girl from the Netherlands, so I'm sorry if there are mistakes in my English writing.

I have a question. My brother got for his birthday a trumpet. I don't know how it's called in het UK but here it's called an "aida trompet" or a "bazuin". It's a very long trumpet which the Royal Marines use in there performances.

The RM have some sort of flag or a banner attachted to it. "een vaandel" that's how we call it. This is missing from the trumpet my brother has, and I want to find one for him, to make it complete.

My brother is a huge fan of the Royal Marines and now I'm wandering if somebody here knows how to get one. Are those for sale? Do the RM have old banners that they sell? Do you know someone who can make somethong like this for me?

I hope that you can help me.
Thanks!

Hi majootje,
Your English is a lot better than many of the youngsters over here so don't apologise!

We do sell our old banners on but they are not in any real fit condition. They are sold through MOD Disposal services and you should be able to find them on the web. I don't know of any that have been sent in recent years as we use until they fall to pieces due to the high manufacturing costs.

Hi,

Thanks for your answers! I looked up the site from the MOD disposable service, but there's nothing there. Is it possible for someone here to warn me when some banners are going to be sold?

Greetings,

Marjolein from the Netherlands
