I received the following from the Kent Fire and Rescue Service Retirement Association. I did not no Graham, Fire Service or Band Service but hope this information will be of help to those that did.
It is with deep regret that we report the death of retained Crew Manager Graham Clague following a short illness on 22 September 2009. Graham, a former Royal Marine Bandsman, was a serving colleague at Deal Fire Station and had been since 1994, whilst also balancing a very successful career in the Prison Service.
His funeral service will be held at Barham Crematorium, near Canterbury, on Tuesday 29 September 2009 at 1600hrs and service personnel are welcome to attend, in uniform if possible.
His family have requested no flowers but any donations can be made to the Pilgrims Hospice, Margate via J Dilnot Smith & Son Undertakers of Deal.
Graham is survived by his wife Katie and his son, Jordan, and daughters Erin and Stephanie. |

Graham was in Staff Band when I joined the Band from Plymouth in 1985. He was a really nice guy. I often saw him at HMYOI, when it was located at Dover. I also saw him last year in his role with Kent Fire & Rescue.
He would have only been in his 40's.
RIP Graham and sincere condolences to all the family. _________________ Nill Illigitimi Carborundum |

I knew Graham well and he was well known & respected around the Deal area and of course the wider band service.
It was not so long ago [a few short months] that he told me about his illness and how unlucky it was for someone in his age group and with his lifestyle to get it. However, he was still cheerful and hopeful that treatment might work for him, which sadly was not the case.
A really genuine nice guy who will be missed by friends and family alike. |

Sad news for a young man and his family. I served with Graham at Northolt briefly - not the normal Fleet Band chap, but a genuinely nice guy.
