hello there its Petereames2006 here In a weeks time it will be beating retreat on Horse Guards Parade but will not be shown by the BBC I find it a disgrace that the BBC have done this it stinks of money and cutbacks I bet there's also politics behind this i will try to find out what the reason is and will respond once I get an answer as for Beating retreat I hope those who attend will record the Parade and put it on you tube
There is a Cd availible but is not like the real thing so my message to the BBc is you can show the trooping the colour but not this so who is pulling your strings telling you what you can and can not show you are a disgrace
All the best

I recently got round to watching Horse Guards 2009 on youtube. Once I eventually got the different parts in the right order, it looked like an impressive display. Lots of different movement than before but hard to get the full benefit, as there were no birds eye views. Drum Static, Very effective!!!!!!!!!!
The one bad thing that caught my eye. One or two of the "bookends" looked like they were out on a Sunday stroll. One officer in particular!!
Finally, what was the piece of music that came after the static, a sort of "walk in the park" sound, which started off quietly and the buglers went walkabout ?

Deli,
Are you aware of the cock up on the Horse Guards 2009 CD?
The track numbers for 7 & 8, do not correspond to the music being played ! _________________ Once a Bugler, always a Turtle !! |
