BdCpl Anthony (Wiggy) Bennett RMBX 3080
I am sorry to have to report that Tony Bennett died on 17 October 2005 after a fall whilst assisting with some tree surgery. He was buried on 24 October with full honours, courtesy of his local branch of the Royal British Legion.
I first met Tony when we were both posted to Deal to form the Band for HMS Victorious in 1966/1967 and he was a super messmate. After HMS Victorious we were both posted to Whale Island C-in-C’s Band where he finished his time. He subsequently joined the Leeds City Police, served his full time and retired to West Wales.
He leaves a wife, Nita, and a daughter Sasha and son-in-law and grandchild.
He will be sadly missed by all.
