Has anyone any contact details for Colin Small, sax and violin who joined in 1986? Last I heard he was in the Met Police somewhere after going outside in the early to mid 1990's.

Any ideas please PM me.

Crackers might know. I have a feeling he may have gone to Canada. Crackers and smiler did and one other but I'm not certain if it was Smalley

Cheers for that. I spoke with Dan Lloyd the other day who seemed to think Crackers left the mob, joined the Humberside cops before going off to join the cops in Canada. Wise move!!

Al Reed was always very good at mounting and riding so I am not surprised to see him doing it full time.

Colin Small is alive and well,we're both working for Vancouver Police and live minutes apart, 40 mins out of Vancouver.
He can be reached at colin68@telus.net
He doesn't change.....big nose....ears sticking out....in-growing p**is ....you know the rest

Al Reed for some reason(only known to himself)went to Ottowa.Last I heard he had bought himself a skidoo (my guess is that its a sexual aid rather than a mode of transport)

Colin threatened to get his sax out again recently,I've suggested a more appropriate course of action (for the benefit of music lovers everywhere) would be for us to get together to do some violin duets!!! Maybe even involve Pete Cox in a trio!!(Yacht Band 2nd violin section in its entirety in the early 90's)

I'll tell Colin to get online and post a reply.
Is that Steve Close asking???....if so Get Dan Lloyd to show himself.

Cheers for that Crackers. Your detective skills are showing through there matey. Dan Lloyd is living in High Peak too, about 10 minutes away from me. He is married with a nipper, and still playing his trumpet around the Manchester scene after moving norf about 5 years ago. I will get him to log on here next time I see him. Last time I spoke to him he was also threatening to get his violin out again...
Must be catching!!

I saw Al Read last at the 3/80 20 year reunion in Deal. I then bumped into a very pi**ed Andy McGowan (ex Bug Magoo for Fleet band historians - who is now Met Police Sgt Magoo) who rang him and I had a quick beer fuelled chat. Crackers, don't know you, but please pass on my regards if you see him.

Gossip Alert! Whilst I was in the Met I also found out that a certain trombone holding ex Fleet band Sergeant (surname McGarr) had also joined the Met and was telling his new colleagues that he was an ex Bootneck!!!! Two things - 1) be proud of who you are 2) don't try and bullshit people when ur only 4ft 7 and built like a real ale barrell!!
